What’s the good word? I came across this article on Lent, and while difficult to read, I do have to say that I agree with some of what is written. Have we really dumbed down the meaning of sacrifice? Is giving up TV or chocolate, REALLY a sacrifice? Read the following article, and let me know your thoughts. Happy Lent! I hope it’s a good journey for you and your faith. I have to say the article is a bit rough…people are at different places. That being said, yes Lent is crazy because Christianity is crazy…willing sacrifice…choosing to serve… Blessings on your Lenten journey!

Lent has become my favorite time of the church year.
I grew up in south Louisiana where its probably 90% Catholic (half of that probably non practicing?). Instead of sacrifice Lent was more of a reason to boil crawfish & drink beer. It wasn’t until joining Messiah that I really started to get what it was all about.
I love the Lenten season. I use it as a time to get real introspective about my faith~ its good for the soul.
